Q: My school is closed. How can I submit a high school transcript?
A: We continue to coordinate with Manitoba high schools to ensure grades are submitted to us directly from your school. For students residing outside of Manitoba, the University of Manitoba will accept an electronic transcript provided it is sent from a representative of your school. Applicants who submit their documents electronically may be requested to provide original, physical copies at a later date. Electronic transcripts should be submitted to Applicant.Services@umanitoba.ca.
Q: My university/college is closed. How do I submit my official transcript?
A: Applicants who have previously taken post-secondary courses at another university or college are required to submit official transcripts - this usually means a physical document. In the event that you are not able to provide an official transcript (for example, if the issuing office at your university or college is closed due to COVID-19), the University of Manitoba will accept an electronic transcript provided that it has been sent from the email of the office responsible for issuing transcripts. Applicants who submit their documents electronically may be requested to provide original, physical copies at a later date. Electronic transcripts should be submitted to Applicant.Services@umanitoba.ca.
Q: How do I submit documents?
A: You can upload documents directly into your application portal during your initial application or, once the application is submitted, please email documents to email@example.com (be sure to include your full name and student number).
Q: When will I hear if I have been admitted?
A: Application processing time varies based on intended term, student type, whether you are a direct or advanced entry applicant, etc. Students are notified by email when admission decisions are reached. Be sure to monitor the email address you used in your application for updates, and check your Application Portal regularly.
Q: Will there be any changes to English language proficiency requirements at the University of Manitoba?
A: The University of Manitoba will temporarily accept the Duolingo English Test as one of the ways to meet the undergraduate English language proficiency requirements. Duolingo English Tests will be accepted if the results are received by the document deadlines for the Summer and Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 intakes for each respective program. The minimum Duolingo English Test score required by the University of Manitoba is 115 (higher scores may be required for certain programs).
In addition, the University of Manitoba will temporarily accept the IELTS Indicator and TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition tests at the same levels as the respective in-person versions.
Q: Can I still apply for Fall 2020 admission?
A: Yes, depending on the program to which you wish to apply. Please visit umanitoba.ca/applynow to review the application deadlines and to submit your application. University 1 will accept applications until August 1, 2020. Application deadlines for Advanced Entry programs vary; please review the relevant Applicant Information Bulletin for your program of choice for more information.
Q: Can a pass grade be used to fulfill an admission requirement(s) to a program?
A: No. Students must meet the admission requirements for the program to which they've applied. Please carefully review the Applicant Information Bulletin for the program; all bulletins can be found at http://umanitoba.ca/student/admissions/application/index.html.

Q: If I choose the option to keep a grade but have it excluded from the transcript degree GPA calculation, can this grade be used to fulfill an admission requirement to a program?
A: Yes. Since the letter grade will appear on your transcript and will remain part of your student record, it will be used to fulfill any admission requirements and GPA calculations used for admission purposes.
