Counsellors' Seminar: Held annually in September, this professional development day for counsellors provides updates on admission requirements, scholarships and U of M programs.
Evening of Excellence: Every October we welcome high-achieving high school students and their friends and family to learn about scholarships and awards, visit our academic fair and meet U of M students and faculty.
Open House: High school students, school groups, mature learners and parents are invited to explore campus and experience a day in the life of a university student at our annual open house in February.
Presentations and Outreach
Student Recruitment visits schools in the fall (October-November) and spring (May-June) for in-class presentations. Contact us for more information about a presentation at your school.

Manitoba Grade 12 Student Grade Collection
The University of Manitoba requests high school grades from schools and school divisions on behalf of applying grade 12 students in Manitoba. A key component of this process is the provincial ID number - please encourage students to include this number in their applications.
As part of the application process, each Manitoba high school student gives the University of Manitoba permission to request grades on their behalf. A secure file is sent to school or school division contacts who create electronic grade files to submit securely to the U of M servers.
The school or school division can expect the grade request from the University of Manitoba at the end of March for students who apply by March 1. At that time, we expect all final grade 12 marks for courses completed up to that point as well as interim or mid-term marks for the second term. For schools that are not on a two-semester system, we receive some form of official mid-term assessment. We encourage grades to be sent by mid-April so decisions can be processed based on official grades.
An additional grade request will be sent out in the middle of June. At that time, we expect all final grades and graduation details to be included.

Support for Indigenous Students
The Indigenous student recruitment team is available to help Indigenous students transition from high school to university. Services include:
*Note that students applying from high school who have never before attended university will apply for admission to a Direct Entry program. Students require at least one year of post-secondary study to apply for admission to an Advanced Entry program.
**Note that high school pre-requisites denote high school course work that a student requires in order to take specific university courses in their chosen program once at university.
